Description

The COMBAT MAXUM is back and continues to push the limits to new heights. COMBAT has made a name for themselves with the MAXUM in the bat industry by consistently delivering an extreme combination of an ultra balanced feel, extremely fast swing weights, a HUGE sweet spot, and unparalleled performance. This COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 provides hitters with an almost unfair sweet spot that is 20-40% larger than competitor models! Switching to the SL7MX112 will also result in an average of 38% Swing Weight Reduction which is the lowest swing weight ever! These models are one-piece, fully composite designs crafted with a seamless construction. A carbon-fiber sleeve runs the length of the bat providing uniform strength for a fine-tuned performance. Unlike typical composite bats that are created by rolling or overlapping layers of material, the MAXUM is produced with advanced Precision Molding Technology (PMT). The PMT process injects liquid resin into seamless high-quality carbon sleeves under extreme pressure. The result is an ultra-consistent product that eliminates seams and weak points that you get with the traditional process. No seams means no dead spots and in on the hands doesn't mean out at first base! That means players can rest-assured that the MAXUM will deliver perfectly tuned performance over a longer lifespan. COMBAT is so sure of this ground-breaking design, each baseball bat is backed by a full twelve (12) month warranty. Additionally, the SL7MX112 features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Certification, a -12 length to weight ratio, and a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter. COMBAT: Measure Up to MAXUM! Buy yours today with Free Shipping!

Lots of Pop! Fabian parent

Pros: My son a small 10 yrd. Sub .200 hitter. needs all the advantages he can get. Has only managed 1 fly ball to center all season long. with this 2017 Maxum his fist hit was a hard ground ball for a base hit. His second hit was a line drive into the gap that carried to what would have been tge fence had we played in a 10u field. His Double/Triple ended up as in inside the park Homerun. Im one proud parent. Every dollar spent worth seeing his team pick him up and carry him into the dugout. Cant wait until the bat gets "broken in". #justbuythebat

Cons: The stickers are showing wear, but it is a bat so thats expected. He did get a stinger but because he hit it off the end of the bat so thats expected.

Great bat Mike parent

Pros: My boy plays 10U travel ball, got him this bat and the first tournament we played in he got two doubles and 3 RBIs. He hits line drives and the first one he hit rolled all the way to the fence, and the other hits were so hot the other team had trouble handling them. His confidence is growing. This bat only has maybe 40 hits so far and it has great pop.

Great Value - Instant Confidence Builder Ry's dad parent

Pros: My son is just 10 years old and this could be the year he hits his first over the fence home run. The bat has a huge sweet spot and because it is so light weight, my son is now swinging a 31" length instead of 30" and his bat speed has increased.

Cons: So far nothing negative to report but like all composite bats, I worry a little about him cracking it based on other reviews that I've read.

Absolutly Amazing Bat RPG Baseball coach

Pros: Awesome Pop, Perfect swing balance, Comfortable grip, This bat is by FAR the best bat i have ever purchased in its price range. I got my son a 29/17 MY son is 6yo, 4'1" tall, 55lbs. His 6U tball team decided to make the jump and play Coach Pitch instead this year so i took the gamble on a bat 2" longer than his 27" tball bat. In 3 games he is 7/10 with 5 balls reaching the 170ft fence and Zero strike outs. The added length helps with pitches away and the exrta 2oz doesnt seem to bother him one bit.

Cons: If you hit the ball off the end cap or handle it stings a bit (SO DO ALL BATS). No other complaints of note.

Confidence Inspiring Happy Parent / Coach coach

Pros: In the cage with my son I generally don't swing with his bat when demonstrating, i just use my fungo bat to demonstrate a point. My 8U player was really struggling to hit the ball out of the infield with his Easton Mako bat, even though he has a pretty good swing. Never strikes out, bats the 3-hole. I decided to take a few (light) swings with the Mako. It was obvious the bat was dead, and he's only had it for half a season. I've read about Combat before, and the fact that EASTON (largest bat mfr in the world) decided to buy out Combat had me intrigued. EASTON is no dummy, there is a technological reason they bought Combat, and I'm sure we'll see the Combat technology in EASTON bats before too long. This bat has great balance, MUCH larger sweet spot (probably a baseball width larger), and much less sting than the MAKO. Son hit a home run over center fielders head his first at bat with the MAXUM. I plan to buy one in 29" and 30" just so he can use the same bat for a while.

Cons: None yet. Will try to re-post at the end of the season to update on durability. I gave durability 4-stars, but we haven't had it long enough to rate durability. I sure hope it stays durable, because out of the box this a GREAT bat. I hope Easton doesn't kill the technology, and will implement the one piece composite design into EASTON bats. Otherwise, I will stock up on MAXUM bats from justbats.

So Unhappy - TWO BATS CRACKED Tammy L parent

Pros: Was good while it lasted.

Cons: The bat just cracked last night. Unfortunately, we had already used the warranty to replace it once the FIRST time it cracked. Both bats lasted only months (less than a year of use) before they formed big cracks. Do not buy unless you are okay buying a bat that doesn't last long.

Awesome Choice Lance Harris parent

Pros: My son is 11. Was looking for a bat that he could gain greater bat speed and solid pop. We found it! This is one of the very few -12 bats on the market. He is able to get around on the fastest pitching now and gets great contact.

Cons: Like any bat, there can be some sting when hitting outside of the sweet spot. I also see concerns about cracking this bat. If this happened, my son would be on top of the world and I'm confident these guys would take care of me!

Money well spent... Parent and Coach parent

Pros: My almost 8 year old weighs 55lbs plays travel ball and is a contact hitter with an avg. of approx. .600. Have been working on swing speed with weighted bats of 6oz over his game bat weight when using a tee. Made the jump from a 13oz Easton to a 16oz Combat Maxum once I felt like his swing speed and strength could handle the 20%+ increase in weight when compared to his physical size. Received the bat within 3 days of ordering and right out of the box my son was hitting the ball much harder and farther then ever! The ball was consistently coming off the bat much quicker and going 10-15ft further in the air. Son and Dad are very pleased...Can't wait to see how much better this bat gets with more time and hits on it. BTW, my son chose this bat after I explained the differences in the bats we researched AND I made him purchase half of it...always gotta have skin in the game.

Cons: None so far...

Pros: My 8 yo son has always been a contact hitter but now crushes it - last two games with this bat he went 7 of 8 with 4 doubles and a triple. The one hit he didn't get was a hard line that SS dove to make a miraculous play. My son's confidence is through the roof as he's racking up RBIs.

Cons: None other than it will no longer be legal in his league next year - but totally worth the rest of this and fall season he'll get out of it this year.

Good while it lasted... Peter parent

Pros: Bought this bat for my 13 year-old's trip to the Cooperstown Dreams Park tourney. Used in one batting practice and one scrimmage before the trip and seemed to have lots of pop. Used it in the first three games and then it cracked on a base hit in the third game. Bummer, and had to borrow another bat for the next four games. I will hand it to JustBats.com though, I emailed on my way back from the tourney, and they took care of the issue very promptly.

Cons: I think another reviewer said they wouldn't recommend this bat for bigger kids, and I guess I'd echo that. It's nice and light but for my 13 year old it just wasn't strong enough to be durable.

Great balance Phil parent

Pros: The Maxum is an incredibly balanced bat! My son prefers it to his Demarini Vexxum which is also very balanced. No kidding about the "hittable" surface area compared to other bats. Three of his teammates refuse to use their own bats and always use his Combat because of the balanced feel.

Cons: My 13 yo son tried this bat in a game and his first hit was an incredible hit to left field. The pop was astounding right out of the wrapper. My 12 yo who has a better swing mechanics gets on base almost every time from grounders and line drives as he is able to swing the bat quickly because of its balance. However, after a couple games, in the air hits rarely go deep into the outfield even with solid contact and follow through. Same is true for the other three hitters so I am not impressed with how quickly the Maxum lost its pop.

Not what it used to be... Coach Joey parent

Pros: This bat was very close to the specified weight and well balanced. 75% off MSRP (too good to be true?)

Cons: These latest bats from combat are NOT what they use to be. First off, the little sticker now says "Designed in Canada, made in China" It used to say "Made in Canada" my boy took just a few swings with it and we both knew it was a dud. The barrel is hard as a rock, it rings the hands, the sound is completely different and there's no pop what-so-ever. LOVED the old Maxums before PSG gutted it, tried to like this one, but I'm afraid they're officially done. You've been warned!

Well balanced with HUGE barrel! A C coach

Pros: So far, so good! Our 10u travel team loves our new Combat Maxum in the 29" drop 12oz version. The Maxum is well balanced, allowing for maximum swing speed. The barrel is very long, comparable to most other 30" bats in this price market. So far, I feel that the Mako Beast Hyperlite has more "pop" of the two bats in terms of ball distance, but the Maxum has it's own strengths. The long barrel has allowed some of our kids that often miss the sweet spot of the bat to experience solid hits that wouldn't be there with other bats. The stock Lizard Grip is nice! It's sticky, comfortable, and long.

Cons: The one-piece design allows for more vibration, but that's the case with any one-piece composite bat. Solution: hit the sweet spot!

Are you ready for Combat? Valleye parent

Pros: I have all Combat bats and like the response my kids have to the bat. From the Tee Ball Bats to the Maxum we have a Combat bat from 26" to 30". There aren't too many bats with good pop at a drop 12 or 11. My sons aren't the biggest kids but they make up the difference with bat speed. The length to weight ratio makes it easy for my boys to make contact and hit the ball hard. They like the feel... Now all the kids on my team use Combat.

Cons: None yet. Would like to see a more end loaded bat at this length to weight ratio.

Not worth it at all! N. Cohen parent

Pros: Great bat if you hit it directly in the sweet spot every time. Nice and light for kids.

Cons: Extremely small sweet spot. Right out of the wrapper this bat had very little pop and made a horrible sound unless you hit the ball directly in the sweet spot. Anything off the end of the bat or handle makes a vibrating sound and the ball barely comes off of the bat. Both my son and his teammates gave up on this bat rather quickly. We have gotten to the point where we have put the bat aside and will no longer use it. Highly suggest finding a different bat to buy.

Great Bat For The Price Tyson Tinter Parent

Pros: Only used a few times so far. Got it on closeout here at justbats. The balance of this bat is exactly what my son was looking for. We moved to this from a DeMarini Zen which he just never got the feel of. Even though he has only used it a few times so far, the ball comes off the bat with much greater velocity than the Zen. Hoping that Easton takes Combat's technology and uses it exclusively on a bat in the near future. We would be a buyer for sure once he outgrows this one. Please understand that this is not a knock on the Zen which is a great bat in its own right. A couple of other kids on the team would use my son's and they had a better experience using it.

Cons: None that we have seen so far.

Explosive Ross Coach

Pros: Tremendous pop. We bought this for our summer team that was playing in a tournament that allowed USSSA 1.15 but no 2 3/4" barrels. We had kids hitting shots all over the place, Until that tournament, we had only played in USA bat tournaments. The difference was incredible. Basically, every kid was using it.

Cons: Like all bats, you gotta barrel it up. I wouldn't say this is a con just that it will rattle pretty bad off the end or on the handle. Can't really accurately say anything about durability other than it did well in 4 games over 2 days being used by basically everyone.

Are there any differences between this model and the 2016 model other than the color scheme? BG
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is said to offer a lower swing weight in comparison to the 2016 model.
John P.
Will you ever release a 32 inch? Hitman
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not available from COMBAT in a 32 inch model. The 31 inch model will be the longest size that COMBAT manufacturers.
Cameron
What is the best way to break-in this bat? Ray
This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) comes with an all-composite build to it. In the past, composite bats have required a break-in period to show game ready performance. However, this 2017 version should only require a limited break-in (if any) before showing game-ready performance. I would imagine that a few rounds of BP or a day of hitting off the tee for a day should be sufficient to get it ready for top performance.
Ben
What is the difference between this and the -11 model, other than the obvious ounce? Doug
The SL7MX211 model will differ from the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) as both bats have a different length-to-weight ratio. However, the SL7MX211 will have a 2 3/4" barrel diameter while this SL7MX112 has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. Besides the cosmetics and the length-to-weight ratio, the differing barrel diameters on two bats will be the biggest difference.
Ben
Is the barrel length on the 2017 model the same as the 2016? BedlamX
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 and the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: MAXSL112 have the same barrel length.
Angelique
Other than cosmetics, is there any difference between the 2016 model and this one? johncarter105
This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) will display all the same features as the 2016 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (MAXSL112). Like you noted, the biggest difference between the bats is going to be the cosmetics.
Ben
Can you recommend a bat size and weight for my 10 yr son? He is 4'8" and 98 lbs. Smith
We would recommend the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in the 30" 18oz size.
Logan
I am looking at a 31" 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrel. Is the barrel length on the -12 the same as the barrel length on the -10 or the -11 models? Or did they reduce the barrel length to achieve the lighter weights? Rick B
The barrel lengths on these bats, assuming they are all the same length, will not change. The different weights that the various 2017 COMBAT MAXUMs will be featured in will be the main difference. Also, it is common to find that that barrel walls of the 2 3/4" bats to be slightly thinner giving more pop potential but also leading to durability issues potentially quicker than that of a 2 5/8".
Cameron
I see people have said things about the bat cracking. Is this typical or a pattern with COMBAT bats? d
With this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112), it will have a -12 length-to-weight ratio (it is a very light bat). Typically, if being used by the correct aged player, it should be able to hold up durability-wise (I cannot guarantee durability, but most times the individual should be okay). For this bat, I would only recommend using it for players that are age 11 and below.
Ben
What would be the right size bat for my son who is almost 7 yrs old in two months, 46" tall and only weighs 50 lbs? He is struggling a little with his 28" 17oz aluminum bat right now. dcody619
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in a 27" 15 ounce size.
Logan
How would I obtain a warranty replacement if the bat cracks since Combat Sports Group no longer exists? Sterling
The warranty for Combat bats, such as the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112, purchased through JustBats.com would be carried through JustBats, and would be similar to a manufacturer's warranty.
Logan
Is this bat approved for use in Dixie Youth? BP
You will have to check with your league officials for a list of banned bats or specific bat regulations, as Dixie is a private league that doesn't fall under general USSSA or Little League standards.
Kyle J.
What bat size would you recommend for a 7 year old who is 52 inches tall and weighs 61 lbs.? Jay
Based on the player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in a 28''.
Tori
Are you sold out of the 29"/17 oz? Ryan
At the time of your question, we still have this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) available in the 29"/17 oz size.
Ben
My son plays 12U travel. He is 78 lbs and 56" tall. He wants a big barrel. Is this bat a good choice for him? 30" or 31"? jenni
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a 29" length bat. That being said, if you felt more comfortable with a 30" bat for him, I think that a 30" bat of this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) would be fine for use if he can handle the 18 oz weight.
Ben
Is this bat legal for Pony Baseball? Don't see "Pony Baseball" written anywhere on the bat, which can be found on all of the bats on my son's Pony baseball team. Bat Boy
Bats featuring a 2 1/4" barrel diameter will be the only ones that feature the Pony stamp. The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is legal, as Pony allows the use of 2 5/8" barrel diameter as long as they feature the 1.15 BPF stamp, which this does.
Logan
My son is 9, turning 10 in August. Height is 4 ft 6 inches roughly. Weight 78 lbs. What size bat would you recommend in this COMBAT MAXUM? Sean
Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in a 29 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 8 and a half. Weighs 62 pounds and is 54 inches tall. Would you recommend a 28 inch or 29 inch bat in this model? GG
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) in the 29" length as long as the subsequent 17 oz weight would work for him.
Ben
Is this bat Little League approved? Tim
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not Little League approved since it features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Logan
My son is 7 1/5 and weighs 59 lbs and is 4'5". Would the 28" 17 oz be good for him, or what do you recommend? Mrpounds10
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 29" 17 oz version of the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112.
Jason
Is this bat BBCOR? I know Dixie Youth is only going to allow this in 2018. Amy
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not BBCOR certified. Dixie Youth is going to require bats with a USABat stamp in 2018, not the BBCOR certification. Such bats will become available in the fall of this year.
Logan
Is this bat legal in Juniors? It's alloy and is 2 5/8". jim
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not legal for Junior division of Little League as the barrel is composite. If using a composite barrel bat then the bat must be BBCOR certified (drop 3 length to weight ratio).
Cameron
Is it a big barrel? Davon
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is a 2 5/8'' barrel, so it is the middle barrel size.
Tori
My son is 54" and currently swings a 29/19 Mako torq. 9 years old and about 65 lbs. Would you recommend a 30" or stick with 29" for now? robert tran
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend sticking with a 29" bat. The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) is a great option.
Carter
Is this bat going to be legal next year after the change? Kevin Woodward
It ultimately depends on your league and what they are requiring next year. The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 will be legal for travel ball, as the rules are not changing. However, if your league is going to require the USA Baseball certification stamp in 2018 this bat will not be legal.
Jason
My son is 11 years old and using a DeMarini CF8 29" bat drop 10. He is a left handed hitter that has consistently hit the ball to third base or short stop area. Considering going to a drop 12 or 11 to increase bat speed. He is 61" tall and 98 lbs. What length of bat should I buy if he going with a drop 12? CJ
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 30"/18 ounce 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) for your son.
Carter
Can I get a different color? hank
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SLMX112 does not come with different color options. The stock green and white is the color of that bat.
Max
My son is 4'5". I just bought the 28" 16 oz bat. What are your thoughts? Julie
The COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is a great option for a player of that size. The pop on the bat will help the younger player remain confident with his play.
Max
My 6.5 y/o son is beginning coach pitch and would like your suggestion for length and weight for him. He is 51" tall. soup
I would suggest a 26'' 14 oz for the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112.
Max
What size of bat for an 8 yr old that is 46 inches tall and 42 lbs? Pack4
Based on your player's information, we would recommend getting the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in a 27 inch model.
Cameron
My son is 7 years old and 51" tall. Right now he's using the Easton Mako Big Barrel, 27" 15 oz. I was thinking of moving him up to a 28" 16 oz 2017 Combat Maxum. Will the 28" be alright or should I stick with a 27" based on his size? Rick
Whether to get the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 in a 28 inch model will really depend on how well he has been handling his current bat at 27 inches and 15 ounces. Unless he is getting the barrel of his current bat through the zone too quickly then it would not be beneficial to move up in length and weight.
Cameron
My son is 55" tall 100 lbs. what size bat? 30"? Carter
A 30'' would be a good fit for your son for the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112. If you are worried about the length you can drop down to a 29''.
Max
My son is 10 years old, stands 5'3" and weighs 110 lbs. He currently swings a 29"/19 oz Easton MAKO (does well with this bat). Would the 31"/19 oz be too long? cal man
Based upon his height and weight, I think your player would be alright to use a 31" length of this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112). Since he is already swinging a 19 oz weight, I think the 31"/19 oz size will be fine for him to use as well.
Ben
My son is 9. He is 4'4" and weighs 79 lbs. He currently uses a 29"/19 oz bat. Would a 30" bat be too big for him? COach H
Based upon your player's height and weight, I am thinking that you can stay at the same size of bat unless you feel he is ready for the 30"/20 oz size. However, if you wanted to move to the 30"/18 oz size of this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112), you should be fine as the bat will be extremely light.
Ben
How big is the barrel? Landan
The barrel on the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is going to be 2 5/8".
Cooper
Did DeMarini buy out Combat or are they affiliated? adam
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not affiliated with DeMarini.
Max
How long does it take for break in? nester
The 2017 Combat Maxum -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) does feature a break-in period. We recommend around 100-150 swings off the tee or soft toss. Please make sure you rotate the barrel about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings. This will help break-in the composite fibers throughout the barrel.
John
What's the difference between this bat and the Vigor? Joe
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 will have a more balanced swing weight feel as well as longer barrel when compared to the COMBAT Vigor.
Cameron
My son is 8 yrs old and he swings a 29"/19 oz size of bat. However, the bat is a heavy on the end. He's 4'10" and 125 lbs (any size smaller we tried wasn't comfortable). My question is if the 29"/17 oz size would be a better fit for his size and his strength? GBROWN
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a bat in the 30" length. However, if the 29" length is the best length fitting for your player, then I think the 29"/17 oz size of this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) will function the best for your player. It will definitely feel lighter than the current 29"/19 oz size of bat being used.
Ben
What are your thoughts in comparing this Combat Maxum and the Louisville 917 big barrel? Are they similarly balanced and have the same size sweet spot? I understand the 917 is a -10. Mac3150
The Combat MAXUM should have a slightly bigger barrel length than the Louisville Prime 917. Both bats will be very well balanced and have large sweet spots The Prime 917 should provide better vibration dampening due to its unique three-piece design.
Kyle J.
Will this bat be legal under the new 2018 rules? Chris
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 would only be legal in USSSA leagues in 2018.
Cameron
My 8 year old son is 50lbs and 55" tall. He's a right handed hitter and consistently hits to SS or 3rd base with a 27/15. Should I consider getting him a 28/16? Steve
Based on his height and weight we would probably recommend a 27"/15 ounce, however, if he is swing that well and it is becoming too light for him the 28"/16 ounce 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) is a great option.
Carter
Our son is 10 years old and about to turn 11 years old (weighs 80 lbs and is 54" tall). Debating between the Louisville Slugger Catalyst (-12 & 2 5/8") or the Combat MAXUM (-12 & 2 5/8"). Are these similar? joey
Based on your player's height and weight, I would make a general length suggestion of 30" in length. This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) and the 2017 or 2018 Catalysts will both be one-piece, all-composite bats. However, this MAXUM will have a 2 5/8" barrel while both of the available 2017 and 2018 Catalyst bats will be 2 3/4" barrel diameter. If you need a 2 5/8" barrel diameter bat, I would suggest getting this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) in the 30"/18 oz size.
Ben
What size would you recommend for a 6 year old that is 75lbs and 52"? Last year used 27/15, but debating between the 28/16 or the 29/17. Thanks for your help. Lynn
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 28" 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112.
Logan
My son's are 4'8" & 75lbs. Both play travel ball. Wondering if the 29/17 or 30/18 would be best. Currently they have swung 29/18 Axe bats this past season geeznoph
Based on their current height and weight, I would suggest the 29/17 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112.
Logan
Does this bat meet the new requirements? Will my son be able to use it to play PONY baseball in 2018? Peter
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not legal for use in Pony baseball in 2018 as this bat does not feature the USA bat stamp. There are currently no COMBAT bats on the market that will feature the new USA stamp.
Cameron
My son is 5 and a half years old and is just over 4 feet tall and about 55 lbs. He has not played organized baseball before, but he will be playing next summer as he become obsessed with the game over this past summer. Just wondering if this Combat bat in 28/16 would be a good option for him? I have been thinking that a 12 drop bat would be better for him than a 10, but any other recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated. We live outside Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada and play under Baseball Ontario rules which allow him to use a 2 3/4" barrel and there is no drop weight limit at his current age group. JHPullam
Based on what you have told us I would recommend the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 for your son in a 27"/15 ounce size.
Carter
Is this a big barrel bat? phil
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is a big barrel bat with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Logan
My son is 8.5 yrs old. Roughly about 55 lbs. His swing lags with a 27"/17 oz bat. I wanted a -12 to help him maintain his mechanics. A 26"/16 oz bat seems a bit short. What size would you recommend? Eddie
If the 27"/17 oz bat causes his swing to lag, but the 27" length is fine, then I think going with this 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) in the 27"/15 oz size would be a good remedy. You would be able to maintain his current length, but get something a little bit lighter that he can swing quicker.
Ben
My son loves his 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 28" bat. Unfortunately he cannot use this bat for Little League in 2018. We weight the bat and it seems more like 17oz rather than 16oz. I'm thinking of buying a 28" -10 USA baseball Bat (2-5/8") similar to this one, which model will you recommend? Thank you! ELee
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -11 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GXHL which also features a one-piece composite design. If you wanted a -10 then I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10.
Dan
My son is 11 years old and plays travel ball. Looking for some help picking out a big barrel 2 5/8" bat? Tommy
This 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL7MX112) will feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and USSSA 1.15 rating. As well, the bat has a -12 length-to-weight ratio. If a -12 bat will be most beneficial for your 11 year old player, I would recommend this bat if we had the specific length and weight option that he needed,
Ben
Does this bat meet the new USA baseball regulations? I don't want to buy it, if it is not approved for the 2018 season. stephanie
Unfortunately, the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not USA certified. It will not be legal for play in 2018 for leagues that require that certification, as this model is USSSA certified.
Jason
My boy is 4"5' & 65 lbs and I'm torn between this and the MAKO Hyperlite. He has a 29/19 Easton S2, hits it pretty solid but I feel it's still a bit heavy. What's the major difference in these two besides barrel diameter? dad
If your player is already swinging a -10 baseball bat then I would recommend the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX110 or going to a heavier bat like the 2018 COMBAT MAXUM -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL8MX108.
Dan
Will these bats be restocked in different sizes? Jose
The sizes on the website are the only sizes we have available in stock.
Damon
Will this bat come with a full 12 month warranty from the date purchased? Is the warranty through JustBats since the company is basically out of business? bigER
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 features a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty would be handled either directly by Justbats.com or Easton.
Cameron

Tyler

The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is a one-piece fully composite. The Marucci Cat 7 is a one-piece fully alloy. The Rawlings Velo is a fully alloy barrel and handle with a composite end cap for more balance.
Tori
Any 30" available? StingraysBaseball
Unfortunately, we do not have any 30" models of the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112. However, we do currently have the -11 version available. That model number is : SL8MX211.
Tyler
Is Dixie approved bat? Scott Handlin
The 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112 is not Dixie approved.
Cameron
My son will turn 8 in the spring and will be playing up in 9u kid pitch baseball. He is 51" in height and is 70lbs (muscular for his age). He currently swings a drop 8 Axe bat 28" in length. My concern is he may not be able to swing quick enough on some of the faster pitching. What would you recommend in the Combat line of bats for USSSA play? Mike
Yes, the 2017 COMBAT MAXUM -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL7MX112, or any of the Combat Maxum models will allow for a much easier swing. This is because the weight distribution of the bats is very balanced and allows for ease of swing.
Tyler
How does this bat compare to the Dirty South Swag? My son is about 53” tall and weighs 72 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for him in the Combat? For travel ball he currently hits a Marucci Cat 8 28"/18 oz and uses another player's Dirty South Swag 29"/18 oz. They seem a little heavy at times for him but when not playing 5-6 games a week he pounds the ball with them. Coach
For his height and weight we would recommend a 29" length of bat. The Combat Maxum will have a slightly stiffer feel to its swing since it is a one-piece design, while the Dirty South Swag is a two-piece design to offer a bit more flex and vibration dampening in the swing.
