How can this bat be used? Chris
This 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat (TB18GX135) should really only be used to hit stationary balls off of a tee. I would not recommend hitting any balls that are being thrown with this bat (unless those baseballs are ones with a softer feel to them (i.e. Easton Incrediballs]).

Is this bat ok for Pony Shetland division? They get three pitches off pitching machine and if they don't hit they then use the tee. tino
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 will be legal for use in Pony for 2018 as this bat will have the USA stamp on it. As far as using the bat to hit off the pitching machine, this bat is designed best for tee ball use only. Depending on the pitching machine speed and the balls that are being used it could serve both purposes and certainly be legal.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 is going to be the same bat as the Mako, just the newest version of it. It features the same design as the Mako.

My son is 5 years old and plays in Dixie youth 5/6 year coach pitch. They do not use a tee. My son is 3 ft 8 in and weighs 43 pounds so he is not tall enough to use a 27 inch bat yet. Is this bat legal in 5/6 coach pitch Dixie youth? cale
Previous Dixie rules would indicate that the 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 would be legal for use in Dixie youth for the 5/6 year age division of coach pitch. As a precaution though, we would recommend checking with coaches and/or league officials to verify.

For the 2018 release of bats, Easton is moving away from the MAKO name. The bat that has replaced the MAKO tee ball bat with the 1-piece, all-composite build is this Ghost X tee ball bat. Overall, if you were looking to replace a MAKO with a 2018 USA bat, this would be the best replacement.

The 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 does feature the USA stamp but would only be good for use in tee ball leagues. A better option to use for an 8 year old would be the 2018 Easton S450 -12 USA Youth Baseball Bat: YSB18S450.

At the tee ball level, differences between composite bats like this 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat (TB18GX135) and aluminum bats are very slight. Choosing between these materials at the tee ball level is going to come down to player preference.

We do not recommend using any tee ball bat for anything more than hitting off a tee. Therefore, using the 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 for machine pitch is not recommended as you will certainly run into durability issues down the line. I would recommend checking out the 2018 Easton S450 -12 USA Youth Baseball Bat: YSB18S450 if you are looking for a lightweight USA bat to use for machine pitch.

I am from Venezuela, and in our league the coach pitches. My son is 5 years old, and I want a 26" or 27" bat with very good sweet spot and very good pop. We don't have any limitation in our league. I want to buy the Easton Ghost, but I read that it is only for use with the tee. Juan
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -13.5 USA Tee Ball Bat: TB18GX135 is only designed to hit ball off a tee, so it would not last long in coach pitch. A coach pitch bat I would suggest would be the 2016 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: JBB16S310.

I hear "it won't last long" or "you'll run into durability issues" when referencing the question of "can this bat be used for coach pitch/machine pitch leagues?" Are you saying it won't last an entire season? I'm fine with throwing it away after one season, but obviously need it to last for a rec league season length. The smallest bat I can find recommended for coach pitch/machine pitch is 27/17, and thats way too big for my 6 year old (both length and weight). Are there any other options? Jeremy
Unfortunately it seems manufacturers just haven't made bats smaller than 27" for the USA standard very common. We wouldn't be able to definitively say how long a tee ball bat would last in coach pitch, since it is designed to hit stationary baseballs. Personally I think the new USA standard somewhat helps in this situation, as the walls of the bats under this standard will be thicker than the old USSSA standard, so that would help with durability.
