Getting ready early for next spring (Cal Ripken) Steven coach
Pros: Looks good, feels good to swing.
Cons: The new USA bats are "dead" compared to BFP 1.15 bats, these new bats have no pop when compared to what the kids have been using for years. Looks to be about 20 feet less in batted ball distance.
Ghost X hype Jeff coach
Pros: Great balance No vibratation
Cons: No Pop. After a break in period of approximately 450 swings off the T, soft toss and live pitching, My son's average hits were landing mid outfield on a 200ft. field. Hitting 4 homers last spring with the Mako, this bat feels dead. I'm hoping that it just needs more swings. It did take a bit for his Mako to break in as well; so we're holding out hope that this wasn't a $350 mistake. If anything changes, I'll return to update our review.
USA Bats Have Less Pop BY DESIGN! ben coach
Pros: long barrel, more like real baseball now, everyone should know that USA bats are not going to hit balls as far as the 1.15 bats. there are many videos on youtube of guys running comparisons, and it is clear that the bats will have less pop, BUT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE LESS POP. you did not get a defective USA bat, you got one that does exactly what it was designed to do. this information has been publicly available for a long time
Cons: price
Not worth the money Robert Ross coach
Pros: none
Cons: This easton bat with the new USA Basball standard is a joke. if i had to do it over I would not waste 10$ on this bat. If you see USA basball on any bat that means no pop. You might as well buy a wood bat it will have twice the pop. Way to ruin it for these kids USA basball forcing your hand taking away our choice to choose. Shame on all the leagues that signed onto this garbage.
Parent Steve parent
Pros: Looks and feels good to swing
Cons: Big strong kids (small % of youth) will still get extra base hits and homeruns, but with these USA bats having no pop they just took away the small/medium sized kids (vast majority of youth) their ability to get extra base hits, no pop = only singles for smaller kids. USA just widened the performance gap between big strong kids and small kids, not fair to smaller kids.
coach L.C. coach
Pros: It's no secret USA bats have less pop. Kids will now have to work on using good technique i.e. legs, core, etc. It's ridiculous to say new bats favor strong athletes and is unfair to smaller kids. Last year kids were hitting HRs that had terrible technique. They hacked at balls and balls would sail over fences. Now they will need to work on strength and technique, rather than rely on a bionic bat. Kids will now be rewarded for the 'right' reasons. Period. Welcome to real baseball.
Cons: Cost. Excessive.
USA Easton Bats Gregg coach
Pros: Good question. I can't think of any compared to the 1.15 my son had last year.
Cons: Vibration is horrible NO pop at all, not less....none, by design evidently Still expensive.
10 year old contact hitter for Power Previous hit Paul parent
Pros: Looks good great feel no vibration
Cons: no pop feels dead would not buy again
Coach Coach coach
Pros: Well balanced. Decent grip. Swings well. These bats are performing exactly how they are supposed to, like WOOD bats. Instead of kids succeeding by how much their parents spend on a bat this really evens the playing field. This is one of the most expensive bats out there and it performs about the same as a 60 dollar bat. Sometimes less. It has a massive barrel but when you test it the sweet spot is about 1.5". Tested a bunch with the radar gun and Hit Trax. Not much difference between them. More of the performance deals with weight, balance, and the hitter.
Cons: Some of the alloy bats have a larger sweet spot by over an inch. If you tap the barrel with something harder you can hear the difference. On the few composite bats it is very pronounced. Alloy is a little tougher especially with some of the funky barrel profiles going to all 2 5/8. Unknown on the durability of this bat.
Hugely disappointing for the price Jim Bahr parent
Pros:
Cons: No pop. My son's baseball team had about 5 or 6 of them and we have all switched to new bats within a month or so. Very disappointed in this bat - especially considering the outrageous price. We had good success with Makos in the past - but very disappointed in Easton right now after this dud.
Ghost X (-8) Stan parent
Pros: This being a USA bat does exactly as we had been told they were going to do. Yes less pop than a USSSA bat by far, but you still get solid hits and line drives.
Cons: Price
Bat cracked Mike Redding coach
Pros: Bat looks good but stops there.
Cons: Expensive, underperforming, poor quality, terrible process to return, non english customer service, overall bad experience. Bat broke during season, stuck without a bat for 5 games at least.
save your money JB parent
Pros: none
Cons: Worst bat i have purchased in the 7 summers my son has been playing baseball. Feels very end heavy, vibrates often, low pop. I niw have a $349 bat rack ornament.
not durable Robert Hyde coach
Pros: nice balance
Cons: Our team of 13 players have gone through no less than 10 broken/cracked easton ghost bats. Some of the boys have had their first one replaced only to have the replacement bat crack also. very poor durability on these new easton usa bats. I had been a huge easton bat fan for years but no longer.
easton lost their way coach coach
Pros: good balance
Cons: these bats crack and break. not durable at all. our team went through about 8 broken bats this season. the durability is so bad that none of our kids are buying an easton again. these do have way less pop. i know they are designed this way based on the new USA standard but I mean they have less pop than other brands. we played in alot of tournaments that required usa bats and you could clearly see the difference in hitting of other teams that didnt use easton like we did. most of our boys ultimately switched to wood or alluminum.
Not Good Noah player
Pros: Good durability; can take a beating. Good overall feel, not to heavy. To hit solid/good hits you need to have spectacular form or be generally big/strong for your age.
Cons: Has no pop whatsoever, The sound is of it is pathetic, Gets dirty easily, and the grip is pretty bad.
Bad Bat!! Matt Moore Parent
Pros: Feels like a great bat
Cons: No pop!! No explosion!! Not worth buying
