Awesome bat!! Rodney Frazier coach

Pros: durable, has pop, hot out of the box, very well balanced. My daughter is 12, 5'5" weighs 135 - 140. She has been swinging the Louiville Slugger Xeno Plus 33 in 22 oz. -11 2016 model. The bat has been excellent, is still in great shape, and still has great pop. I just bought her the Louiville Slugger LXT 33 in 22 oz. -11 2018 model. I want her to experience both bats. I also read the reviews where it should help with bat speed. My daughter is excited and ready to usenit in a game. Our first tournament is March 3, can't wait to see how she does with it. So far in practice it has been great.

Cons: none

Overall great bat! Mike coach

Pros: This bat makes a big difference for young hitters. We had girls who could never hit to the outfield before this bat. Our girls are now regulary hitting line drives and fly ball to the outfield. Lots of pop off of this bat!

Cons: Durability might be an issue. I already noticed some chipping on the knob of the bat.

Good bat Zac Wallin parent

Pros: My daughter is a little on the small side physically which is why I went with the -11 LS LXT - Received the delivery days before the state tourney. Only a few buckets off the tee and right into live pitching. Good pop right out of the gate, My girl hit well all weekend and she helper her team to win her bracket in the State Tournament.

Cons: Not much - Weird sound is a little hard to get used to Durability rating - TBD to early to tell

What is the difference between the 2017 and 2018 models? Hadley
This 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) will feature a new X-Cap that allows the barrel length to be longer and the bat to swung just as fast as the 2017 LXT. That is going to be the big difference between the 2 year models.
Ben
How does the 2018 version of this bat differ than the 2017 version? What makes it better? CB
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 features the new ultra lightweight X-Cap which helps to increase swing speed and increases barrel length.
Tori
(1) Is the barrel on the 33"/23 oz and 32"/22 oz LXT the same length? (2) From where does the -11 lose the extra ounce? If it is from the handle, doesn't that change the balance of the bat? jmjead
(1) The 33" model of the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) will have the longer barrel length due to it being a longer bat overall. (2) Unfortunately, Slugger does not provide the information about the location from where the extra ounce is taken on the -11 LXT. However, the -11 LXT is still a balanced feeling bat.
Ben
My daughter is currently swinging a DeMarini Vendetta 30/20 and the bat has started to sound funny like it's about to break so we are looking to upgrade to the new 2018 Louisville slugger lxt -11. She is 12 and weighs 120 lbs and is 4ft 11". Which size would be better the 30/19 or 31/20? Lee
Based on her height and weight we would recommend the 31"/20 ounce 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11).
Carter
My daughter is 10 years old. She has a -13 bat now and is looking for a new bat. Would this bat be too big of a jump for her? new to this
For most 10 year old fastpitch players, we are suggesting to get a bat with a 30" length to it. Generally speaking, I think that your player could use a model of this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) in the 30"/19 oz size. However, I think that moving to a bat in that size will present a bit of an adjustment period for your player when moving from a -13 size bat.
Ben
My daughter is 14 yrs old, 5'2" and 160 lbs. She has been using a 31"/21 oz (-10). Do I need get her a bigger bat and what would you suggest? Christie Hoelscher
Based upon your player's height and weight, our general suggestion would be to get a bat in the 33" length. If you are a little nervous about making the move to a 33" length bat, you could also go with a 32" model. However, I think she is probably ready for a move to something a little longer. If you got her this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) in the 32" length, it would be the same the 21 oz weight as her current bat. If you wanted a bat that could be bought in the 32"/22 oz size, I might recommend looking to the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A10).
Ben
What's the difference in the drops for Louisville slugger LXT? Dewey
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT comes in a drop 8, 9, 10, and 11. The drop in the difference between the length and weight. So the 30" -10 would weigh 20 ounces and the 30" -8 would weigh 22 ounces.
Carter
Are there significant differences between the 2018 & 2017 LXT? Freeze Softball
The 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 features a new Ultra Lightweight X-Cap which helps increase swing speed and the barrel length. Otherwise the two bats are very similar besides the graphics.
Jason
I have a friend that is 14 years old (about to turn 15), 5'2 and about 130lbs. What size bat would be the best fit? georgia
Based on the player's age, height and weight, I would recommend the 32"/21 oz. size of the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11).
Taylor
My daughter is almost 15 years old and weighs around 130 pounds. She has been using an LXT 32"/22 oz. (-10) for about a year and a half. Would it be a drastic change if she would go to a 33"/22 oz. (-11)? Cesar
I don't think moving from a 32/22 to a 33/22 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 would be a difficult transition at all. If the 22 oz. weight is the max weight she can handle, but needs a little more coverage, that would be the way to go.
Logan
My daughter is 14 years old (about to be 15) and weighs 120 lbs at 5'3". We are considering getting her this bat in a 32"/21 oz size. What are your thoughts? Bat Answer
Based on your player's height and weight, I agree and would recommend getting this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) in a 32"/21 oz size.
Taylor
Does the 28/17 have a bigger sweet spot than the 2016 model LXT? H.Silva
There is no indication that the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 has a bigger sweet spot compared to the older 2016 model.
Cameron
My daughter is 12 yrs old (4"11' and 80 lbs). She has a DeMarini 31 (-13), but complains it is too long. This is her first year playing. Do you recommend this bat and what would be the proper length? Shoe
At her height and weight, we would actually recommend the same 31" length of bat she is using right now. If you wanted a smaller bat, you could go with the 30"/19 oz size option of this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11). However, I don't think that size would last very long for her as I imagine she will continue growing.
Veb
My daughter is 5'8", 115 lbs, and almost 15. Her current bat is a CF7 32"/22 oz and she has been swinging that for several years. Want to get her a new bat this year and looking at the PXT or LXT by Louisville Slugger or the CFX Demarini. She is a lefty and swings long. Any suggestions in both bat type and also size? Thinking of jumping to a 33"/23 oz or 33"/22 oz. Tish
We would suggest a 32" or 33" length for her height and weight. We can't really recommend a weight are there are too many factors we can't know via chat, email or phone, but -10 is probably the most common drop. As for what bat, any of those options would be a great choice as they are some of our best selling fast pitch models.
Kyle J.
My 8 year old is 4"8' and roughly 110 pounds. She doesn"t have a tremendous amount of strength just yet and her current bat is a DeMarini 30'/18 oz. What size would you recommend? Diamond Doll
Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPLX18A11) in a 31"/20 oz size. Ideally, you want her swinging the longest and heaviest bat she can handle so that she has more mass behind each hit. With that being said, if you feel that this 2 ounce jump in weight would affect her bat speed negatively, I would recommend sticking to a 30"/19 oz.
Taylor
i have an 11 year old that is 4 foot 6 inches and weighs 70 pounds what bat would you recommend? ricky123
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 30" model of this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11.
Tyler
My girl swings a 28 16 right now, but it is not a well balanced bat. It is aluminum. Will getting this bat in 28 17 help her any with speed, balance, and overall control? Jeron
Considering this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 is a very balanced bat, you will receive an increase in overall control on a similar sized bat. However, by increasing in weight from your other bat, the difference may not be all that noticeable.
Tyler
Do used models come with any warranty? Brister74
Used models will not be covered under any manufacturer's warranty. JustBats does offer a 14 day return period on used items, so if it arrives and is not in the condition that you would like, it can be returned with 14 days of the purchase date for a full refund.
Kyle J.
My daughter is 11, 5"0 and 80 lbs. She uses a 2017 LXT at 29" drop 11. Would you suggest going to a longer length and a bit heavier weight? jia
At her size and age, I would suggest sticking with the same drop weight, but going up to a 31" length in the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11.
Logan
My daughter is 13 and is 5'5" and 114 lbs. What size bat would you recommend with this bat? Ryan
Based on your daughter's height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 in a 32''.
Tori
My Daughter is 9 and 4'3" and 64LBS. What size bat would you recommend with this bat? She's going to start 10U. O Sandoval
Based on your player's specifications, I would recommend either a 28" or 29" option of this 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11
Tyler
My daughter is 4'5" and weighs 75 lbs. She currently swings a 29/17 Vendetta, which seems to not have a lot of pop. I would like to get her a new bat, I am torn between DeMarini and Louisville and also which model would best suit her. She is a contact hitter with a little slower bat speed. Chad Snyder
Based on your daughter's current height and weight, we would recommend looking into the 2018 Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 in a 30 inch model. Both this LS LXT model and the DeMarini CF Zen would be great bats to consider as they are two-piece composite models with balanced swing weights. Whether or not the performance would improve over the Vendetta is tough to say but going to a heavier bat should certainly help.
Cameron
My daughter is eight and weighs 53 lbs. She is currently swinging a 28 in 16 oz. Would any of these sizes work for her? Kiffaney
The Louisville Slugger LXT -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPLX18A11 may not be the best fit for a player of her age and weight. A better option to consider would be the DeMarini Vendetta -12 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXVCF or the DeMarini Bustos -13 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXBFP19. Only downside, is both of these previously mentioned bats start at 29 inches.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
