Description

One of the most popular and highly rated Marucci baseball bats is back and better than ever. The Hex Alloy 2 series has improved on an already masterful one-piece design and taken it to the next level with groundbreaking technology and materials. It all starts with the newly developed AZ105 alloy that allows for thinner barrel walls and better overall performance without sacrificing durability. Each model is individually handcrafted and finely tuned by length, weight, and barrel diameter so that you're guaranteed an optimal combination of performance and strength. Marucci has also used their patented Ring Free Barrel Technology which provides consistent power at the plate with zero dead spots across the barrel. Inside of that barrel, a multivariable wall design creates a wider sweet spot, a huge hitting surface, and the maximum allowed barrel length. On the other end, a micro-perforated bat grip offers an extremely soft touch with extra tack for more control through your swing. Marucci: Built For Confidence & Performance!

This Marucci Hex Alloy 2 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) features a drop 10 length to weight ratio, a 2 3/4-inch barrel diameter, and the USSSA 1.15 BPF certified stamp on the taper. Great Value Bat Scott T parent

Pros: Reviewing for a 10U AAA player on a TX travel team. Very balanced, easy to swing for the younger guys. Lots of pop and I like the distinctive ping it makes. Doesn't take long to break in. Looks great and he says it feels great. So far durability seems good.

Cons: Miss hits are rough for any kid that has used it, especially off the end.

Naperville Renegade Elite Team Mike Cerilli, mcerilli825@gmail.com coach

Pros: Our entire 10U elite travel baseball team used this bat in 2017 and we batted our way to a 65-7 record a USSSA state title. We out site every team by margin of 2 to 1 -- The Marucci alloy. bat does well in early Spring cold weather games and deep, humid heat of mid-July. Tons of pop and versatility from our biggest hitter to our contact hitters. This bat is the best to the market, can't wait to see what the 2019 version will look like!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am trying to decide between the 2018 Hex Alloy 2 and the Hex Connect for my 10 year old. He likes a balanced bat. He is more of a contact hitter than power hitter. Would you recommend one over the other? JT
Both this 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) and the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHCX10) will feature a balanced swing feel. However, the basic design of the 2 bats will differ. The Hex Alloy 2 is a one-piece, all-alloy bat and the Hex Connect is a two-piece, all-composite design. Neither design is inherently better than the other, it just comes down to the preference of the player.
Ben
New release? Will this bat be approved for the new regulations? AW
The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 is only approved for USSSA leagues. This bat does not feature a USA stamp that Little League, Dixie, Pony, Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth, Dizzy Dean and AABC will require in 2018.
Cameron
My son is starting 9u travel ball this fall, he is 50.25" tall about 55 lbs. He swung a Cat 6 26/16 last spring travel ball season coach pitch. Thinking about buying this bat. What size do you recommend? SF
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 28" 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10.
Logan
What's the difference between the Hex and Cat 7? Jack
The 2018 Marucci Hex uses a new alloy than the 2017 Marucci Cat 7. The alloy used on the Hex alloys for a thinner barrel wall for use in the 2 3/4" barrel diameter model, while the Cat 7 is not offered in the 2 3/4" barrel diameter.
Kyle J.
How does the 2018 Marucci MSBHA2X10 compare to the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect MSBHCX1? T-Bird
The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) is a one piece alloy and has different cosmetics. The MSBHCX1 is a two piece composite bat with a little better connection point allowing for sting reduction as well as flex. Both bats are great bats, they are very comparable with one another when it comes to performance.
Mick
Does this bat have the USA bat sticker to be used under the new rules required by Little League? kelly
This 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) will not feature the USA Bat stamp certification required by Little League come 2018.
Ben
I am looking at getting the Marucci Hex Alloy 2 or the Rawlings Velo (28"/18 oz - 2 3/4"). Does one bat have a longer barrel than the other and does one have a bigger sweet spot than the other? Will they both have the same swing weight? joe
When comparing this 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) side-by-side with the 2018 Rawlings VELO -10 Senior League bat (UT8V34), you'll see that the barrel length of the Hex Alloy 2 is slightly longer. In regard to sweet spot size, it will be hard to say that one is larger than the other at this time (we have not received many reviews and I think sweet spot size is more indicative of performance reviews than a barrel length comparison). Both bats should feel pretty balanced overall. The VELO may have an advantage in its balanced feel due to its composite end-cap that allows for a very light swing weight across the VELO line of bats.
Ben
Does this bat have the anti-vibration knob like the Cat 7? Coach
No, unfortunately the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 does not feature the anti-vibration knob.
Jason
What's the difference between the 2018 marucci hex alloy 2 and the 2017 marucci hex alloy? coco
The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 will feature a one-piece all alloy design while the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCY10 will feature a two-piece fully composite design with vibration reduction.
Dan
What differences are there between the Marucci Hex Alloy vs Marucci Posey Pro Metal? What can I expect different compared to the Marucci Cat 7? LA guy
The main difference between the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 and the Marucci Posey28 Pro Metal -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBP28X10 is the alloy being used. Both bats are one-piece alloy models with balanced swing weights. The Posey model will use the same alloy as the CAT 7 with the main difference being that the Posey model does not have the AV2 Knob design. Unfortunately the CAT 7 is only made in the Junior Big Barrel with regards to the -10 length to weight ratio.
Cameron
I bought this bat for my son and it does not have the same pop as the one in Just Bats review video on YouTube. Is it because we're only doing tee work? Alex
The term "pop" is not one that can be determined as it is more personal opinion. Without conducting a standard test across the board and eliminating the variables there would be no way to compare the pop of the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 from one model to the next or to any other model on the market. With that said, the ball will jump off the bat quicker and thus travel farther the more bat speed a hitter can generate. When this is combined with velocity from the pitcher then there is a greater likelihood of the ball traveling further distances. When doing tee work the hitter must supply all the power as the ball remains stationary and this makes it more difficult for most hitters to hit the ball at greater distances.
Cameron
Do you recommend the CAT 7 drop 8 or the Hex Alloy drop 10? My son swung a 30' drop 8 CAT 7 and a 31' Hex Alloy drop 10. He liked both equally. What would you recommend? Max
Both the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) and the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBYC78) are great bats, but I would advise that if your son is able to handle the weight difference, he should go ahead and swing the -8.
Tyler
What is your return policy regarding bats? Elissa
The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 could be returned for an exchange or refund if it is in unused condition. We offer free return shipping, there is no restocking fee and as long as the bat is unused there is no time table to get this bat back to us.
Cameron
Which bat would you recommend: the Marucci Hex Alloy 2 or the Louisville Omaha 518? What is the difference between them? Ptep
Both this 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) and the Louisville Omaha 518 will be single-piece, all-alloy bats with balanced swing feels. This Marucci Hex 2 has received excellent reviews so far and I would recommend this bat really highly.
Ben
I am trying to choose a bat for my 11 year old son. I have narrowed it down to the 2018 Marucci Hex 2 alloy or the Marucci Buster Posey Pro Metal. Which would you suggest? He can hit for occasional power. His previous bat was the original Marucci Hex alloy. BB
Both bats should perform very close to one another. They use slightly different alloys, but judging by the reviews there shouldn't be a huge difference between the two. It mostly comes down to what cosmetics you prefer.
Kyle J.
Which would you prefer, the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 (-10) or 2017 Cat 7? Best pop? I own a Cat 7 25"/15oz but need to move up. How true to actual weight is the Hex? Marucci Dad!
Both bats should perform very well. The Marucci Cat 7 was one of the most popular models we sold this past year overall however. Almost all bats will be anywhere between 1-1.5oz heavier than their listed weight, since manufacturers weigh bats before final construction, so things like the adhesive glue for the end cap and grip tape are almost never included.
Kyle J.
Is this bat good for coach pitch? Dnic
Yes, this bat would work well for coach pitch.
Kyle J.
I'm looking at the Marucci Hex Alloy (AZ105 alloy) 2, -10 and the CAT 7 (AZ4X alloy) for my 11U son. Both are one piece. Do you have recommendation? If so why? drodri00
Both the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 and the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 are excellent bats to consider. The main benefit of the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 is the AV2 knob; this helps reduce vibration from off-centered hits.
Cameron
Is there a bat pack with the Marucci Hex Alloy and the Marucci CAT 7 in the -10 category? Eric
Yes, at this point in time that bat pack exists. MSBC7X10 and MSBAHAX10 are the product codes for those two bats, but it does appear as though the only available Hex Alloy is in a 27" size. Unfortunately, the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 is not currently available in any bat packs.
Tyler
How does the Hex 2 compare to the previous model Hex? My son is 10, about 57" tall, 90 lbs and generally a power hitter. I'm concerned about the reported denting in the 2 3/4 barrel. We're looking at a 30"/20 oz size. Would he be better with 2 5/8" barrel? Travis
Marucci changed to the AZ105 alloy for the Hex 2 to help improve performance. In general a 2 3/4" bat will be slightly more prone to denting than a 2 5/8" model because the barrel walls have to be made slightly thinner to expand the barrel diameter to that size. The trade off is that it is easier to hit the ball with a larger barrel diameter, so the decision on what to go with is up to each customer.
Kyle J.
My son is 11 years old 4'8" and 85 lbs, would you recommend 29 or 30"? Also was curious on your opinion on whether this or the Cat 7 had more pop? Colin
Our sizing chart has your son at a size of 29'' in the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10. As for the Marucci CAT 7 does have great reviews and is a customer favorite as far as performance.
Max L
I'm looking to get a alloy bat for my son but I'm concerned about denting with this bat. Will Marucci replace the bat if it dents within the warranty time frame? Drip
Yes, Marucci offers a 12 month manufacturer's warranty for the 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10).
John
My son just turned 8 and is about 4'10" and 105 lbs. He is moving up into a competitive select club and looking to upgrade his bat to his first big barrel. What size would you recommend? (He's currently swinging a 28"/18 oz bat and the coach thinks it's too small). Dan
Based on his height and weight, I would recommend a 30" length bat. This 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHA2X10) would be an excellent bat to purchase. It is a one-piece, all-alloy bat and has received pretty solid reviews thus far!
Ben
Numerous concerns about the bat denting with power hitters. Has this model been upgraded to correct this? T. Beyrs
The denting issues on previous year's models of the Marucci Hex could be more due to the velocity of the pitcher or the hitter potentially needing to swing a heavier bat. The alloy has changed to the AZ105 with the Marucci Hex Alloy 2 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHA2X10 (previous model used AZ4X) and would say the durability has been good thus far based on customer feedback.
Cameron
My son has been using the 2018 Green Hex Alloy for the past two seasons and loves it. What is the most comparable model in the 2020 model year? Mike
The most comparable model to this Marucci Hex would be the Marucci Cat series, either the Cat 7,8, or 9.
