Description

When the CAT 5 burst onto the baseball scene, it became one of the top aluminum bats on the market. This year, Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT 6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced. Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat features the USSSA BPF 1.15 Stamp. The Marucci CAT 6 carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Nice Bat Mike coach

Pros: Bat is well balanced, bought this bat for my 13 year old playing elite travel ball. Very Good Pop, well balanced bat. Have had many different bats including Marucci Elite, Mako, etc over past few years and this seems to stand toe to toe at a slightly lower price point. Only feedback I am interested in from others is how this compares to the Marucci Cat 6 elite version which is a little higher price but haven't seen any comparisons yet.

Cons: None so far, Don't know about durability yet only used in a few games.

Balanced, but no real pop Rick S parent

Pros: Very Balanced Good Price Point No sting

Cons: Very Little Pop and a small sweet spot Bought this bat for my son who has been using an Anderson Techzilla and Rip-It Air for travel. The Rip-It broke in half in batting practice, so someone told us to go with the Marucci Cat 6. He found this to be a really dead bat, with about a 4 inch sweet spot, so now it sits in my garage. My son wishes that Anderson would make a big barrel Techzilla!

Pros: My 13 year old son really likes this bat. Perfect weight for him and easy change next year to drop 3. Good Pop and seems very good for durability for right now. He has been hitting it for about 2 month with lots of reps. He plays 13AAA & 14AA. I might just buy another one to keep in his bag in case something happens to this one.

Cons: None so far.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Had some bad experiences with the performance and durability of the Marucci Team line and had lost confidence in the brand. How does the quality, performance, and durability of the CAT6 compare to the Marucci Team and the Elite line? noweyeseetoo
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League (MSBC65) will have a larger sweet spot compared to the Marucci Team and Elite models which will translate into better performance. Marucci has made some minor changes to the AZ3000 Alloy to improve the durability of the bat.
John
How does the CAT 6 compare to the Black? Is the CAT 6 balanced or end loaded? We had great success at the plate with the Easton S3 -10 at a younger age, but we need a -5 now. We are looking for something comparable. Jason
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) will not be end loaded. It will have an extended barrel length and feel very balanced. The Black is also balanced and will feature a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The CAT 6 will be fully alloy. Either bat will feel very comfortable and be very high performing.
Brandon
Can you give me some opinions on the CAT 6 vs. RIP-IT AIR? Differences and similarities. Anthony
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and 2014 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1405) would be pretty comparable in design. Both are balanced, one-piece alloy models that utilize technology that optimizes the barrel wall thickness to achieve that balanced feel. The RIP-IT models uses a Contact Grip to help reduce the vibration often experience with one-piece bats. And the CAT 6 features Marucci's patented Anti-Vibration Knob to eliminate that sting. If you're interested in the RIP-IT model, it's backed by a 30 Day Love It or Return It Program through RIP-IT which would allow you to try the bat out, risk-free.
Mac
What is the difference between the Cat 6 and the Cat 5? Would you consider this a power bat or contact? OFD326
The Cat 5 and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) are going to be very similar. Both are going to be a one-piece aluminum design with a balanced swing weight and a longer barrel for a larger sweetspot. This would be an excellent bat for a contact hitter.
Jake
Looking for most balanced bat for a contact hitter. He has the 2014 Marucci Black now. Open to any suggestions. Lowell
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) would be an excellent option for a balanced bat. Easton's "S" lineup, DeMarini Vexxum or CF series, or the Rawlings VELO are all good balanced bat options.
Jake
Is the AZ3000 alloy more responsive than the 7050 alloy found in the Louisville Slugger my son has been using? joe
The AZ300 alloy found in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) is going to be an upgraded alloy that is designed for all-season durability and is currently among the most responsive alloy in the industry. The 7050 alloy that is found in Louisville Slugger bats is going to be known for durability.
Liz
How would this compare to a DeMarini NVS Vexxum or Voodoo? My contact hitting son is currently swinging the CAT 5 Squared in -8. I understand this is a one-piece, as opposed to the two-piece DeMarini's. From a performance, balance, and swing weight stand point which is better? TJ
If your boy is already using the CAT 5 model, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) would be a great choice! It is fully one-piece in design. Made from 100% alloy materials. It will also feel very comfortable and deflect much of the hand sting on mishits. It will feel slightly stiffer compared to the DeMarini Vexxum NVS. Both are very balanced in swing weight and will provide similar pop and performance.
Brandon
My 13 year old son currently swings the Marucci Black 2 -8. Is the Cat 6 a similar bat for feel and balance? Paul
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and the Marucci Black 2 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBB28) will have similarly balanced designs but may feel weighted differently due to the difference in drop weight. The CAT 6 and the Black 2 will have different feel to them because the Black 2 is a two-piece design that will flex a bit more while the CAT 6 is more stiff.
Patrick
Is this model better than the 2015 RIP-IT AIR ELITE? Slugger
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1505) features a two piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The performance of the bats will be very similar, however the RIP-IT will have a faster bat speed and a little less vibration than the Cat 6.
Joe
Is this bat end loaded? blackmamba93
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) has a balanced swing weight.
Jason
How would you compare the 2015 Marucci Elite and the Marucci Cat 6? jake
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) are both going to be balanced bats designed for contact hitters. The Cat 6 is a one piece alloy design and the Air Elite is a two piece hybrid design.
Frankie
How does the 2015 CAT 6 compare to the 2013 Marucci TEAM PREBCOR? Will the CAT 6 be a higher performing bat? JW
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) and the Marucci Team preBCOR Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBT5) compare very closely in terms of design. The Cat 6 may be a bit better balanced which can help create quicker bat speed. Other than that, they will perform very similarly.
Patrick
My son just turned 13 and is 5'3" and 123 lbs. Which size bat would be best for him? Rika21
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) in a 31" 26 oz. model.
Joe

Patrick
I don't know if should get a Select 715 or a Cat 6? tb1
If you like a more balanced feel, I would go with a 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65). If you like something a bit more barrel heavy or "end-loaded" feel, I would go with the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLS7155).
Patrick
Does the Cat 6 require a break in period? mike j
No, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) does not require a break in period.
Frankie
My son is ready to move from a balanced bat (he currently swings Velo) to an end-loaded bat. I am concerned the Voodoo is too big of a jump. Is there a "slightly" end loaded option? Mike H
Whether bats like the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) feel end-loaded or how much of an end-load is felt can vary from player to player. Some may feel that it does while others will not. There is not a bat that they specifically list as a slight end-load.
Patrick
My son is 5'5" and 145 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? He is 12 years old. rnc
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65).
Jason

My son is 13 and is 5'8" and weighs about 128. What would be a good size? John walter
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 in a 32 inch 27 ounce model.
Cameron
Is this legal for 13-15 yr old Jr. Babe Ruth? LRP1968
The Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 would be allowed for 13-15 year old Babe Ruth as this bat features an alloy barrel (if it were composite then it would need to have BBCOR certification), a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter, features the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp and will not be featured in a length longer than 34 inches.
Cameron
Is this bat BBCOR certified? Tamara
No, the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 is not BBCOR certified. The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is the BBCOR certified version of the CAT 6.
Marcus
My son is 5'4" and weighs 108. Do you think he should go with a 31 inch bat? chase
Yes, I think a 31" bat would be the ideal size for your son.
Nick
I'm around 5'6", 190 lbs and moving up to middle school. What size? Also, would this be a good bat or would the Easton XL3 be better? bobby hill
Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of going with the longest 32" model of this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65). As long as you can handle the 27 oz weight of the 32" model, you should be just fine with that size option of this bat. If you wanted more of an end-loaded bat, then I might recommend looking more towards the XL3 as this CAT 6 will be very balanced in its swing weight.
Ben
My son is 13. He is 5'6", but light at 100 lbs. He wants a -5, 32"/27 oz bat. He does not have to use a -5 until this fall, but he wants to start this spring with the heavier bat. What are your thoughts on the 31" or 32" with his size? rg20
Based upon your player's height and weight, our general suggestion would be to get a 31" model of Senior League/Youth Big Barrel Bat. However, if you feel that your player can handle the 27 oz weight of the 32" model of this Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65), then that size would be just fine for use!
Ben
My son is 13 and weighs 80 lbs. He swings a 31 inch 20 ounce but needs a big barrel bat now. What do you recommend? Charles
The correct length to get your son the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 in would be based on his height. As for the weight, this is going to be determined more by the current weight of the bat he is using and how that is treating him. If bat speed is not lacking, then a small increase (1 to 2 ounces) might be a good idea. To get a better idea of bat size, please refer to our bat coach at: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Cameron
My son is 10 years old. He is currently using an Easton S3 which is 29 inches long and 19 oz. Which CAT6 bat would be the best for him? He is about 56 inches tall. He is pretty strong for his age. Also, what barrel size? Wade
At this time we currently only have the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 in a 32 inch 27 ounce bat. This size bat will be better suited for a player that is in 8th grade or a year away from having to use BBCOR bats. Based on your son's height, we would recommend going with a 30 inch or possibly a 31 inch bat. As for the weight, that is determined by how he is currently handling the 19 ounce bat. Typically, when increasing weight we suggest increasing it no more than 1 to 2 ounces. And barrel size, make sure the barrel size you are looking into is allowed for use. A lot of leagues do not allow the 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter.
Cameron
Is this approved for Little League major division? Bri
The Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC65 is not approved for Little League as it does not feature the USA stamp. At this time, Marucci is not making any USA certified models.

Can this bat be used for F league? Sebastian
Sorry, but I am not familiar with the rules and regulations for an "F League". This Marucci Cat 6 Senior League (MSBC65) bat has the USSSA certification, which means it is legal for use in any league that requires bats to have that stamp. I would contact a coach or league official if you are unsure what your league requires.
