What is your opinion of this bat? There are not many reviews on it. What bat would you recommend for fall baseball? Is it advisable to have a bat for summer baseball, and one for fall baseball? Debbie
The 2015 Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat: (MSBC1410) is brand new to the market. Therefore, we unfortunately do not have many reviews on this model. However, it will be high performing, and will have a strong sweet spot. As for recommendations for the fall, ultimately it will depend on your playing style. If you are a power hitter, I would suggest an one-piece, end-loaded design. If your game is more representative of a contact-hitter, I would suggest a two-piece, balanced design. It is not uncommon for players for to have two different bats for seasons.If you are using an alloy for both, this type of material tends to lose its pop a little quicker than composites. Therefore, it might a good idea to have two different alloys for the various seasons. However, if you are using composite, I would probably suggest only having one model. This material tends to become hotter over its lifetime,and would continue to perform through multiple seasons.

The 2015 Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC1410) is a very well-balanced bat, so it would be more similar to the MAKO in that aspect. Typically, a contact hitter will gravitate toward a balanced bat, but a power hitter could still swing this bat effectively if they preferred a more balanced bat.

Comparing the 2015 Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC1410) to the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 Senior League Baseball Bat (SLP915X), the Hex has a slightly larger sweetspot because it does not incorporate a connection point like the three-piece design on the Prime. So it has a bigger sweet spot but less sting and vibration protection than the Prime.

The 2015 Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC1410), and all composite bats take 150-200 swings rotating them a quarter of an inch on each swing to break them in, and to get them to their peak performance.

"Pop" is more of a term that is associated with the skill of the player rather than a measurable feature of the bat. Due to performance restrictions imposed for safety reasons, most bats within the same certification category will perform to the same level at their peak. The difference, and what you end up paying for, is the feel of the bat (balanced vs. end-loaded, one-piece vs two-piece, barrel size, etc.) and the durability of the bat (how long the bat will perform at that peak level). Which one is best would depend on what you are looking for in those aspects compared to the price range you are looking to stay in.
Alloy barrel bats tend to dull faster than composite models which allows composite bats like the 2015 Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC1410) to have more prolonged and consistent performance over time. Alloy bats will be hotter out of the wrapper but may not last as long at the peak performance level.

The 2015 Hex Composite and the Hex 16 will be different in design. The composite model will be higher performing compared to the alloy once the composite fibers are broken-in. In colder weather games both bats will have a higher chance of denting or cracking due to the ball becoming harder which causes higher stress on the barrel.

The balanced feel of both make this bat easier to control - a perfect fit for the contact hitter. As for the bat to select, it really comes down to your personal preference with regards to alloy or composite.

To our knowledge, this Marucci Hex Composite Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC1410) and the MSBYC1410 will be legal for use in 2016 USSSA tournaments. We have not received any notice that these bats' USSSA certification has been revoked.
